Announcing a New Funding Opportunity: CBC COVID-19 Response Award

Funding Opportunity Purpose: To support team Program Projects that engage investigators from all three CBC institutions to address SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19 biomedical research. The projects must be directed to, but not exclusive to, viral detection, antiviral and vaccine approaches, and cellular responses to viral infection.

Key Dates:
Letter of Intent Due Date: July 1, 2020
Complete Application (Proposal) Due Date: August 1, 2020
Earliest Start Date: September 1, 2020

Funding Amount: at least three awards of $500,000 each
Award Period: Up to two years

HHMI’s Medically Trained Scientists Program (MTS) seeks early career scientists with knowledge of human biology to move discovery science forward. MTS will ultimately invest up to $120 million in up to 40 fellows. MTS fellows are creative and highly committed individuals whose research will impact significant biological problems. RFA: CBC Catalyst Award
▸ CBC invites new applications

Catalysts are one-time incentive awards (up to $250,000), focused on basic biological/ biomedical research with transformative potential, made to collaborative teams with principals and other strong representation from at least two of the CBC institutions.

Please note that the application guidelines (RFA) have been revised effective January 6, 2020: the Catalyst Award program aims to support basic scientific discoveries that are cutting-edge, high-risk / high-reward and address fundamental research questions.

Round 29 (Spring 2020) application submission portal is now open; submission deadline: February 21, 2020.
